Tropical waters, jagged cliffs, palm trees, pine trees, sunshine and fog… While exploring the California coastline, there is a little something for everyone.

Mendocino County

While on an adventure exploring some of the Northern California coastline, we stopped at this spot for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting and were treated with one of the most stunning views. As my last painting completed while living in California, capturing the state flower could not have felt more appropriate - it felt almost poetic. No matter how far I wander, I will always feel a kinship to those bright and beautiful little flowers that bounce in the breeze to their own tune. This painting for me is truly a celebration of the undeniable beauty of California.

Sea Ranch, a picturesque spot in Northern California that was merely a blur out the window one day during a road trip. It seemed so peaceful, so perfect... open space for miles and the ocean as far as the eye could see. Every color of the rainbow was dancing across the coastline as the ocean breeze swept up the hillside; it was a painter’s paradise.

Usal Beach on the Lost Coast... Miles off the beaten path and only accessible by one of the most scenic little dirt roads imaginable... I spent my afternoon sitting on the beach, soaking up the sunshine and thinking about life. I camped in my car completely isolated amongst the trees and drank hot cocoa as I watched the sunset from a completely deserted beach until all the colors had faded from the sky.

Montana de Oro

I remember camping at this spot with my family and some of my dearest friends when I was in grade school. To this day, I still remember climbing around the tide pools in the cool fog of the central coast. Little did I know, years later I would live right down the road from this beautiful spot. Living on the central coast is truly living in Paradise. From the rolling golden hills to the stunning coastline, it has inspired so many incredible adventures and paintings over the years.
